Arnold Agrella Jr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at the age of 87 after being hospitalized with the COVID-19 virus. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Arnold was born in Galveston, TX on May 24, 1933 to Arnold Agrella Sr. and Romualda “Romita” Sepulveda Agrella. He grew up in Galveston where he met and eventually married his lifelong sweetheart, Mary Louise Perez. Arnold had a lifelong love of travel and adventure. He shipped out as a Merchant Marine at the age of 15 but had to return home and finish High School when his true age was discovered. After graduating from Kirwin High School, Arnold returned to the sea as an Electricians Mate 2 aboard the Navy Destroyer, USS Hyman. He toured the Mediterranean Sea visiting numerous ports and acquiring tales to last a lifetime. Other adventures in his life included visiting his father’s hometown, Funchal, on the Portuguese island of Madeira; vacationing in Hawaii, cruising the Caribbean, traversing the Panama Canal, and most recently traveling to Maine and South Carolina for shipmate reunions.

Arnold was a 50-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) #716. He is a member of the VFW – Ellington Post 490. Arnold is also a longstanding Mason and is a member of Deer Park Masonic Lodge #1362.

Arnold is preceded in death by his wonderful wife of 54 years, Mary Louise; his parents Arnold Sr. and Romita; sister Hilda, and brother Louis.

He is survived by his loving children, Arnold “Dino” Agrella III and wife Carroll, Martin Agrella and wife Shelly, Mark Agrella, and Michele Agrella Sharpless; brother Roland Agrella and wife Linda; grandchildren Joseph, Amy, Emily, Ryan, Morgan, Garrett, Austin, Kenny Jr., Christopher “Boomer”, and Stevie; and great grandchildren Axelia, Mark, Isaiah, Rachel, Rosalind, Madalyn, Chance, Carter, and Kenny III.

Immediate family visitation will begin at 10:00 am followed by the receiving of friends and family at 10:30 am Chapel service will begin at 11:00 am
