Mrs. E. M. McPherron died at her home in Hollywood, California, on Thursday, October 7, 1909, aged twenty nine years, seven months and twenty nine days. News of the birth of a child to Mr. and Mrs. McPherron accompanied by an unfavorable report as to the mother's condition, was received by Mrs. McPherron's parents Tuesday afternoon of last week but on Wednesday a message was received which stated that her condition was greatly improved and it was believed that she would recover. The message announcing her sad death was received on Thursday. Ella May Mankey was the eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mankey, of this place, and was born in Newell on February 8, 1880. She grew to womanhood in Newell and received her early training here. On August 24, 1908, she was united in marriage with Mr. Alfred Monroe McPherron, at Oakland, California and after the wedding journey took up her abode with her husband at Hollywood. Mrs. McPherron is survived by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Mankey, her sister, Miss Daisy Mankey, her brother, Thos. Mankey, Jr. , and other relatives here.
