Wesley Bailey 1920-2010, Resident of Alamo. Wes passed peacefully at home on February 22nd, surrounded by loved ones, following a long illness. Wes was born in Logan, Utah, and moved to the Bay Area in 1937 on a baseball scholarship to Saint Mary's College. He married Delone Petersen, of Hyrum, Utah in 1943 and they were married 67 years at the time of his passing. Wes would go on to play baseball professionally at the AAA level, including stints with the Oakland Oaks and the San Francisco Seals. He was an Air Force veteran, and founding partner of McBail Co. (with E.J. McGah) and Bailey Dutton Homes. He had a wonderful life with Delone and their family. Family was always the most important thing to Wes, and he is loved and missed by a large extended family. He is survived by his wife Delone, son Stephen Bailey and daughter-in-law Vicki Bailey, daughter Rebecca Dutton and son-in-law Craig Dutton, grandaughters Heather Bailey (John Strassburger), Laurel Bailey, Holly Bailey, Cami Dutton, Nicole O'Neil (Chris), and Whitney Stodtmeister (Ryan), and great-grandchildren Isabel Delone O'Neil, and Wesley Paul Strassburger. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Stone Valley Road in Alamo on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010. In lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society and the National Parkinson Foundation.
