Emil R. White, 84, passed away at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Vancrest of Delphos.
Emil was born on December 17, 1937 in Wapakoneta, Ohio, to the late Hope and Howard White Sr. On September 16, 1959 he married Sharon Rae (Iiames) White, who preceded him in death on February 7, 2021.
Emil graduated in the last class from Lima South High School. He went on to graduate from Ohio State University with an Art Education Degree and earned his Master's Degree at the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, IN. He taught Art at Elida High School and had also worked at A & P Grocery and Sears. Emil greatly enjoyed art and landscaping as well as collecting trains and Beanie Babies.
He is survived by his sons, Michael (Tammy) White of Lima and Steve White of New Mexico; grandchildren: Kayla (Derek), Cory (Molly), Ashley (Nick), Emily (Ty), Jessica (Austin), Simone, and Hazel; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers, Howard "Buddy" (Janet) White Jr. and Tom (Mai Le) White Sr.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home and one hour prior to service on Friday. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022 at the funeral home. Rev. Wanda Werking will officiate. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima.
