He married the love of his life, Karen Ware on February 14th, 1992. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Panama City, where he volunteered with his wife for many years. Over the span of 28 years of marriage, he and his wife loved to travel, visiting 20 countries. The highlight of their travels included serving the Lord during multiple mission trips abroad. He was a faithful servant and instilled his love for Jesus to all of his family. He was well-known for his adventurous spirit, clever wit, and joyful presence.
He graduated with a bachelors degree from Regis University and retired from Coors Brewery in Golden, Colorado before moving to Panama City Beach.
Predeceased by his parents, nephew Ron Schmidt, and sisters in-law Judy Schmidt & Pat Schmidt.
Survived by his wife Karen and children Lisa (James) Osby; Scott Schmidt; Amy (Dennis) Baskerville; Mark Schmidt; Brian (Lorena) Burch. Ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Roger Schmidt; Ron (Nancy) Schmidt; and Glenn "Benny" Schmidt. Including many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
