Nina Lee Jackson
February 1, 1935 ~ January 12, 2020 (age 84)

Nina Lee Arthur was born to Harry and Ruth Arthur in Moorcroft Wyoming on February 1, 1935. She was one of eleven children. She passed away at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Hayden, Idaho on Sunday January 12, 2020 at the age of 84. Nina grew up and attended school in New Castle, Wyoming until she moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho with her family in 1951. She married Francis Yeigh. They divorced and she married Wilbur Baker. Following Wilbur’s death, she married Charles Castles and later on John Jackson.

Nina lived and worked in Bonners Ferry until 2007 when she retired and moved to Hayden Idaho to be closer to her children. She worked in the food service industry most of her adult life as a waitress, meat cutter and cook. She was also skilled in upholstery and operated an upholstery shop for several years. Nina’s last employment was at the Bonners Ferry Senior Center preparing meals for all the seniors who she enjoyed spending time with.

She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews. She enjoyed travelling, camping and fishing (regardless of catching). Nina was always ready to play a game of Yahtzee, cards, or work a jigsaw puzzle as long as she was with family. It was never about winning the game, but instead about spending time with those she loved.

Nina is survived by her children Marlene Mitchell, Umatilla, OR, Raymond Yeigh (Judy), Boardman, OR, Jay Baker (Sherry), Athol, ID, and Tara Lucas (Steve), Hayden, ID, 13 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sandra, husband Wilbur, son in law Charles Mitchell, and siblings, Harry Jr, Thomas, Patricia, Gerald, Donald, and Charlene.

There will be a memorial service on February 1, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., at the Coeur d’Alene Shriners Event Center, 1250 Lancaster Ave, Hayden, ID 83835.
