Ms. Mary Frank Yates, age 69 of Millers Creek passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Millers Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Shannon Critcher and Brother Harrold Wood officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Old Reddies River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ms. Yates was born November 17, 1950 in Wilkes County to Lester L. and Nena Dell Whittington Yates. She was loved by family and friends, her niece LeAnne and husband Noah, great nieces Emma Rose and Ella Grace. She was a member of Millers Creek Baptist Church. She loved her church family, special friends Ray and Karen Lowe, Rabun Gap Nacoochee School family, special friends Dianne Burts, Gayla Green, and Connie Walton. She received a Master’s Degree in education from University of North Georgia. She retired in 2013 after 40 years of teaching at Rabun Gap Nacoochee School where she had received a Master Teacher Award from Rabun Gap Nacoochee School in Rabun Gap, GA, which is a Prestigious Award from staff and faculty. She was inducted into the Rabun Gap Nacoochee School Athletic Hall of fame in 2019 for her years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Ms. Yates is survived by a sister Patty Wood and husband Harrold of Millers Creek;

a niece LeAnne Wood Johnson and husband Noah; two great nieces Emma Rose Johnson and Ella Grace Johnson.
