It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Ray Holt of Aransas Pass, Texas, who went home to be with Jesus on September 23, 2020, at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene, his mother, Edith, and his siblings, Orville, Clinton, Alpha, Robert, and Gene. He will be greatly missed by his wife Norma, his children Bonnie and her husband Bryan, Ray and his wife Ronnett, Robert and his wife Tina, Dwayne and his wife Julie, Tracy and her husband John, James and his wife Amy, and Jason and Tasha, along with his 19 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Kenneth, who was affectionately known by many as “Kenny,” will be remembered for his kind smile along with his quick wit and charm. He loved playing his guitar and singing for anyone who would listen; and, he had a profound appreciation for traditional gospel hymns. There were not many family gatherings where his guitar would not find its way into his hands.

Kenny enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and in the great outdoors – especially fishing. His kind heart, paired with the generosity he had for helping others, was continuously shown as he would do anything to assist a friend or someone in need. He always held onto his faith in Jesus and selflessly volunteered in many churches over the years. Whether in the music ministry, ushering, pastoral care, or routine maintenance, he displayed a loyal servant’s heart by volunteering his time and energy in what can only be described as his unique ministry to others. He will truly be missed by all.

A private family gathering and Celebration of Life service will be held at the Confederate Cemetery located at 998 Dickinson Road in Alvin, Texas, on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear masks and practice all social distancing guidelines.
