Thomas M. Spotts D.D.S. 64, of Pine Island, FL passed away on January 24, 2014. He was born on January 13, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois to Melvin and Alyce Spotts. He was raised in Park Ridge, Illinois, graduating from Maine South High Scholl class of 1968 where he was All State and All American in Football. He was a graduate of Brown University class of 1971. Dr. Spotts received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois, Chicago in 1977. He practiced dentistry at his practice in Naperville Illinois until he moved his family to southwest Florida in 1989. He eventually opened his dental practice on Pine Island in 1990, and practiced there until 2013. All the while enjoying what Southwest Florida had to offer, especially the wonderful community of Pine Island and the people he came to know and treat at his office.
He is survived by his former wife of 38 years, Ellen J. Winfield; four children, Christen W. Spotts, Mitchell T. Spotts, Samantha A. Spotts, and Taryn M. Spotts; his mother, Alyce K. Spotts; his three brothers; one sister; and extended family members and friends.
