Cynthia June Green was born on June 13, 1930 to Orion Clifford Brewer and Margaret Ruth Brewer nee Snell in Emporia, Kansas. At age six, she suffered paralysis from polio. When recovering, she attended elementary school on the campus of the Kansas State Teacher's College, where she used a winter-time swimming pool for physical therapy. These formative experiences prepared her well for her future career as a homemaker.

In 1943, she and her family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she attended the Tulsa public schools, graduating from Will Rodgers High School. Because she had become a Red Cross qualified lifeguard, she was appointed student assistant coach to the high school swim team.

While attending the University of Tulsa, she married a fellow student, John Luther Green, on August 26, 1949. In 1952, she later graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Arts.

She then moved with her husband and their growing family to his successive places of employment in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Denver, Colorado; Kilbourne, Illinois; and Lima, Peru. While living in Lima for ten years, she was a member of the Peruvian National Woman's Choir and as a Girl Scout Leader.

In 1970, she returned with her family to Boulder, Colorado. During this time, all of their chidren graduated from Fairview Highschool and obtained college degrees. After her husband retired in 1990, they moved to their present home in Niwot, Colorado. During this period, she served fifteen years as a precinct election judge.

On August 26, 2019, June and John celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with their extended family and friends.
