Mr. Beers died at Fox Hospital, Oneonta, Monday, April 15. He was 43 years old.
He had resided at Otego for the past three years and was a self-employed dairy farmer.
The son of Carl and Josephine Godfrey Beers, he was born May 24, 1947, in the Town of Andes. He was married to the former Linda Sprague.
His widow survives as does a son, Richard Jr., and a daughter Arlene Beers, both of Otego; his mother, Josephine Beers of Andes; five brothers, John of Arkville, Carl Jr., of Andes, Robert of Starlight, PA, Donald of Sidney, and Terry of Starrucca, PA; eight sisters, Mrs. Shirley Balcom of Andes, Mrs. Barbara Hopkins of Santa Rosa, CA, Mrs Betty Weed of Elmira, Mrs Jane Soderback of Andes, Mrs Cheryl Stratton of Margaretville, Mrs. Rose Brock of Roscoe, Judy Ann Beers of Deposit, and Mrs Debbie Lewis of Starrucca, PA.
Services for Mr. Beers will be conducted from the Jester Stanley Funeral Home, Andes, Thursday afternoon at 2. Rev. Daniel McCollister, pastor of the Andes United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Andes Cemetery.
There will be calling hours this Wednesday evening from 7 to 9.
