Blessed the Lord oh my soul, for it was on June 8, 1962 when a strong bouncing baby boy was born, Herman Elton Williams, Jr. to Herman Williams, Sr. and Estherlene Wilbourn Williams in Bryan, TX.
He graduated from Anahauc High School in 1980. Herman was an all around athlete there, playing football, basketball, swimming, and track as a hurdler and long jump. He won district in track and all-district in football. He received a scholarship to Jarvis Christian College in track. Herman received an Associate Degree in Welding from Lee College in Baytown, Texas.
He worked at the following places: Vecto, Conn’s, American Freightway and FedEx, where he worked over 18 years before he had to retire.
Herman accepted Christ at an early age at the First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Richard Robertson. While there, he sang in the choir and worked on the Usher Board.
On July 23, 1994, Herman married the love of his life, Tammy Stevenson and to this union a son was born, Herman Williams, III. He joined Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Hayward Wiggins. This is where his audio visual passion began. He joined the Audio Visual Committee where they would record, tape and sound check all of the church services. He continued working with the Audio Visual Ministry under the leadership of Rev. Dennis Jones. He also was a member of the Can-Cer-Vive Ministry, Sunday School and the Benjamin Tribe.
Herman was a quiet, gentle spirited man. He made a friend to everyone he met. He liked sharing life stories, and making CDs and DVDs for everyone.
On September 19, 2020, God called his faithful servant Herman, to come home and rest. “Well done my good and faithful servant!”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Williams, Sr. and Estherlene Williams and his sister, Jacqueline Williams.
Herman leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 26 years, Tammy; son, Herman III; sisters, Gwendolyn McClain (Houston, TX), Sharon Egland (Beaumont, TX); Father-in-Law; two Sister-in-Laws; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
