He was born on Fort Rucker in Dale County, Alabama but raised on various military bases throughout the world including Germany, Okinawa, Japan and France. The family finally settled down in Neptune, NJ. Eric graduated from Neptune High School and at 18 enlisted into the United States Army following his father's footsteps. He served in the 101st Airborne Division (AASLT) until the end of his military career.
He is predeceased by his father Johnie Young. He is survived by his mother Irene Young; Siblings, Terrance Young, Renee Young & Michael Young; Daughter, Sherice Ford & her husband Eric Ford; Nephew, Cerrone Young; Nieces, Risezette Weber, Michaela, Katlin, Kaity & Michelle and an array of cousins and friends who adored him.
Friends and family are invited to view from 11:30am to 1:30pm on Friday, September 25, 2020 at The Ely Funeral Home, Neptune. A 2:30pm Commital Ceremony will follow at The Brigadier William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
