Dennis Alan Parker, 67, of Lee County, GA, died September 24, 2020. No public services will be held and Dennis will be interred on the family lot at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Dennis was born on August 8, 1953 in Screven County, GA to John and Bernice Parker. His family moved to Albany, GA when Dennis was sixteen. He graduated from Albany High School in 1971 and moved to Lee County, GA.

Dennis attended Albany Junior College, Albany State College and the FBI Academy where he studied Criminal Justice. His law enforcement career spanned forty-five years and his first jobs were with the Albany Airport Police and the Dougherty County Police Department. Dennis was employed for over thirty years with the Lee County Sheriff’s Department where he served as Chief Deputy and retired with the rank of Colonel. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church, Chehaw Lodge # 701 F & AM and he was also a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Albany.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Jane Parker. Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Sandy Parker of Lee County, GA, his father, John T. Parker of Sylvania, GA, a brother, David Parker of Claxton, GA, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Johnny and Margaret Weathersby of Dahlonega, GA and a special friend, Pam Burson of Lee County, GA.
