Sarah Elizabeth Johnson-Walker, 92, of Beckley, WV died on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at her residence following a long illness. She and her husband of more than 70 years, A. Keith Walker, who survives her, were owners and operators of Walker’s Pic Pac grocery stores in Mullens, WV for over 30 years. She was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Joy Sunday School Class and the Keenagers group. She held prior memberships in the First Baptist Church and Memorial Baptist Church, both in Beckley, WV. Because of her heart for children, she was extremely active for more than 30 years as a key volunteer in charge of infants and toddlers in her first two churches. She was an active and charter member of the Beckley area Auxiliary of The Gideons International.

She was born September 12, 1928 in Huntington, WV, a daughter of Benjamin F. Johnson Sr. (1893-1936) and Kathleen Lou Ward-Johnson-Kilgore (1898-1976). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Marie Johnson (1923-1941); and three brothers, Benjamin F. Johnson, Jr. (Deceased), Michael Franklin Johnson (1919-1993), and William Jack Johnson (1918-1997).

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband Allen "Keith" Walker (B. 1926) whom she married on May 30, 1948 in Cabell County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Cabell County, WV, 1948, Page 227, Record 5648 Application Date: May 29, 1948); daughters, Teresa Walker-Epperley & husband Gregg Epperley of Beckley, WV and Linda Walker-Fitzgerald & husband Toney Fitzgerald of Coppell, TX; sons, Eddie Walker of Mullens, WV, and Mike Walker & wife Debbie Walker of Tower Lakes, IL; grandsons, Bryant Walker, Michael Epperley, Drew Epperley, Jacob Fitzgerald and Jonathan Fitzgerald; granddaughters, Audrey Stanton-Smith, Sarah Walker-Seifert, and Morgan Fitzgerald-Clardy; great-grandchildren, Jon David Schwitzerlette, Graydon Smith, and Wyatt Seifert.

Due to Covid-19, a private family visitation and funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020 beginning at 12:00 Noon at Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center. Entombment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley.
