Oscar Lee Campbell
A resident of Gonzales and a native of Asher, Okla., he died at 9:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 73 and retired as a supervisor from Ormet Corp. with 37 years of service. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Visitation will be held at Welsh Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Monday, Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. until chapel funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Rosedale.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Joyce Campbell; five children and their spouses, Stephen and Netta Campbell, Cecilia Campbell, Susan and Ron Smith, Denise and Kevin Jackson and Mary and Bob Murray; foster son, Ken Hagedorn; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Elizabeth Campbell. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, P.O. Box 127, Baton Rouge, LA 70767.
