Barbara J. Harvey, 85, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020 at her home in Effingham.
Barbara was born on May 8, 1935 in Galesburg, IL, the oldest daughter of Wilma Belle (Tuncil) and Robert Bruce Faulkner, Sr. She attended Knoxville High School in Knoxville IL; graduating in 1953. Her favorite activities while attending school were playing softball and cheerleading. In 1951, she met her high school sweetheart, Billy Gene Harvey. They married on February 13, 1955 and were happily married 65 years.

While her husband was in the Navy, they had lived in Maryland, California and finally settled in Lake Villa, IL. where her husband retired from the Navy.

Throughout her career, her passion was collecting and selling antiques which lead her to open her shop Broomsticks and Doorknobs in Lake Villa, IL. From doing her antique shows, she was recruited to work public relations at Hawthorne Shopping Mall in Vernon Hills, IL and retired in 1996.

Barbara and her husband Bill, moved to Effingham in 2003 and built their retirement home out by Lake Sara. Then in 2013, they moved to Bradenton, FL until 2017 when they moved back to Effingham, IL.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Billy Gene Harvey of Effingham, IL; son Steven Arthur Harvey of Spring TX; daughter, Sandra Kay Engthan-Holm (Reggie) of Effingham, IL and son, Mark Alan Harvey (Erik Mansen) of Bay Harbor Islands, FL; cherished grandson, John David Engnath of Effingham, IL; step-granddaughter, Lisa Holm; step-grandson, Jacob (Missy) Holm of Loris, SC; brother, Robert Bruce Faulkner, Jr. (Joyce) of Effingham IL; nephews, Jeff Faulkner (Wendy) of Effingham, IL and Todd Faulkner; sister-in-law, Lynn (Fusch) Harvey of Monmouth, IL; niece, Ann Marie (Harvey) Greenstreet of Monmouth, IL; dog, Sophie Harvey (pug) and her grand-cats Pixi & Trixi Harvey-Mansen.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law Jerry Engnath.
