Albert Levi Grimes, 89, a resident of Tallahassee, peacefully passed away while surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 08, 2017, at the Big Bend Hospice House.
A son of the late Josh Grimes and Myrtice Porter Horne, he was born September 03, 1927, in Sopchoppy, Florida. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Eliza Jane Revell Grimes; and a daughter, Jani Lucille Gibbs.
With honor, he faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Following service to his country, he was employed and retired from General Services, Fleet Management Division with the City of Tallahassee. He loved fishing and was a member of the Moose Lodge, Chapter 1075.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Grimes Gunter (husband, Bill); grandchildren, Nick Shawn Roberts, Corey Gunter and Austin Smith; great-grandchildren, Jimmy Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Baylee Gunter and Kaylee Roberts; and a great-great-granddaughter, Lanie Roberts. Also surviving is a son-in-law, Grady Gibbs.
No services are planned at this time. He will be inurned at a later time at Grimes Family Cemetery in Sopchoppy, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be considered to either
