Philip was born on October 24, 1947 to Paul and Annie Barmes Jackson in Hope, AR. and passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. He was a graduate of Springhill High School and Louisiana Tech University. He was a long-time member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. He retired from Centerpoint Energy where he worked in the Rate and Regulatory Department.
Philip was preceded in death by his wife, Myrel Harvey Jackson, parents Paul and Annie Jackson and brother, Ernest Lee Jackson. He is survived by his daughter Michelle Jackson Brown and husband Troy; and son Mark Jackson. He was a proud Pops of four wonderful grandchildren – Hallie and Hollis Brown and McKenna and Paisley Jackson all of Shreveport, LA. Philip was also survived by sister Annette Wilson and husband Marc and his twin sister Phyllis Ferris and husband Wilfred and also several nieces and nephews.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in lieu of flowers. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the doctors, nurses and staff that took care of him at Willis-Knighton Pierremont and a very heartfelt thank you to all our family and friends for their prayers.
