Philip was an Ensign in the military during the war of 1812 and served in Capt. Alexander Givens's Co., Colonel McDowell's Regiment. He was the son of Michael Keinadt and married 1st to Catharine Faber Coiner. His 2nd marriage was to Catharine (Pence) Miller a widow.

He was 72 years 9 months and 1 day old when he died.

There appears to have been a change in the spelling of the last name at that time.
