Julie Ann Carr was born on November, 20 1959 to Maury and Bea Townsend of Portland, Oregon. Julie lived in Portland her whole life. Julie attended Parkrose High School, and graduated in 1978. While in school she was a member of the marching band. On December, 23 1981 Julie met her husband Frank at a party for Parkrose graduates. From day one they were an inseparable couple. Julie and Frank were married on August, 7 1982. It was a picture perfect wedding; even though it was the hottest day of the year. Julie and Frank spent their honeymoon on the Long Beach peninsula. Julie grew up spending weekends on the family lot on the peninsula. Even though they were not in Hawaii, they had a wonderful honeymoon in her parent’s 20 two foot Aljo trailer. On October, 28 1983 Frank and Julie had their first son Christopher Allen Carr. Christopher was a troublesome baby, he kept his parents awake every night. On May, 26 1989 Julie and Frank welcomed their second son. Nicholas Aaron Carr, was born on a very rainy day. Nicholas was the opposite of Christopher, he always slept at night. In May 1996 Julie, Frank, and the boys started on a family project. Julie’s parents decided to build a house on their lot in Surfside, Washington. We spent many weekends there building a whole house from the ground up. Julie loved going to the beach, it was one of her favorite places to go. It was a major change moving up from the Aljo trailer in to the house. When the house was under construction you could see Julie digging sand, framing walls, roofing, and dry walling. She liked to be involved with the process. She also had Her dad Maury, and Frank acting as the construction foremen. On September, 30 2009 Julie lost the love of her life to suicide. Losing Frank was hard on Julie. The loss of Frank brought the family closer together. Julie worked as a greeter for Dollar rent a car at Portland International Airport. When customers would return their rental car; she would meet people from all over the world. Julie would share story's of people that were passing through Portland. Even though she was badly at giving directions, she would give directions the best she could. Julie was a happy person. She could be seen smiling, and cracking a joke. She was seldom in a bad mood. When she was in a bad mood, you would know it. Stupid little things would make her laugh. Julie was an avid cook. She made real good spaghetti, and different soups. Baking was a big part of her life also. Julie liked to bake homemade Carmel rolls. This was one of her grandmas recipes. Julie is survived by her children, Christopher and Nicholas Carr. Her parents Maury and Bea Townsend. Her brother and sister-in-law David and Laurie Townsend . Her nephew and niece Willie and Holly Townsend. Her cats Baylee and Elvis. Julie will always be remembered by the positive impact she made in the world.
