Margaret “Peggy” Hanson, 76 of Sugar Grove, passed away Tuesday September 22, 2020 at Rush-Copley Medical Center. She was born January 22, 1944 in Aurora, IL the daughter of the late Emil and Loretta (Pohl) Dumdie.
Peggy was a Medical Coder for many years at Dreyer. She also enjoyed reading and watching The Hallmark Channel. Peggy however will be most remembered as the Best Grandma Ever. Whatever activity her grandkids were in, she was there rooting for them.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Amy (Gene) Thompson, Julie (Patrick) Curry and Cindy (Mark) LeaTrea; grandchildren, Stephen, Bryant, Nicholas, Jake, Alyssa, Mikaela and James; siblings, Pamela Dumdie, Dorothea Dumdie, Barbara (Roger) McAlister, Michael Dumdie and Jeffrey (Tia) Dumdie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Hanson and her brother, James (Marge) Dumdie.
Visitation was Sunday 1-4 p.m. Sept. 27, 2020 at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr., Sugar Grove, IL 60554. Funeral Mass was Monday 10 a.m. Sept. 28, 2020 at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 8S 055 Dugan Rd., Sugar Grove, IL 60554. Interment took place at Lincoln Memorial Park.
