He was born July 27, 1942 in Allensville, Kentucky the son of the late James Rufus and Margaret Arms Bland.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Wayne Bland. He is survived by three sons Kenny Bland of Katy, Texas, Jeff Bland of Cedar Hill, Tennessee and Keith and Sylvia Bland of Fallbrook, California; sister Debbie Williams of Allensville; longtime companion Marianne Keaton of Russellville, Kentucky; Leigh Ann Smith, McKenna Smith, Langston Smith and Bryan Rankin.
