It was often said that if ever there were two identical souls, they were Delano Eagle Sr. and his son David. Much as his father, David loved the outdoors, basketball, football, horse shoes, riding horses and recently he took a liking to bull riding. Much of his riding was at the Jeff Cadotte ranch. He was a skilled hunter and fisherman.

"David was a personable young man," a family member said. "He always told a story with a hearty laugh and a smile that touched his eyes."

David was employed by Professional Construction Incorporated, making his home in Cannonball, N.D., when he died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, due to injuries received in an auto accident in Cannonball. He was 28 years old.

David Kreigh Eagle was born Aug. 5, 1979, to Yvonne Shell Track and Delano Eagle Sr. Throughout his elementary and high school years he attended schools in Little Eagle, Fort Yates, N.D., Mandan, N.D., and Bismarck, N.D., before graduating from Solen High School on May 29, 1998.

During his senior year he dated Gerretta Stretches and they had a daughter, Lashae Athena Eagle, born April 20, 1999. After high school David enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Army Reserve for a period of eight years before receiving an honorable discharge in August 2006.

He worked several times for Prairie Knights as a server and cashier. He attended Sitting Bull College and then was employed by the construction company.

David most enjoyed spending time with family, friends, his companion Kim Culbertson and his adored little daughter, Lashae.
