It’s with heavy hearts, the Vonwiller family regrets to announce the passing of our beloved brother and uncle John Lee VonWiller of South Portland. John passed away peacefully on Saturday September 19th at Mount Saint Joseph assisted living center in Waterville after a brief illness. He was the son of George and Florence (Mezoian) VonWiller of Portland.
Born in Portland on December 9, 1957 John moved with his parents and brother Steve VonWiller to Long Beach, California and attended Long Beach schools, graduating from Millikan High School in 1977. John returned with his parents to Maine in 1981 and was a long term resident of South Portland. He was an avid coin collector and Boston Red Sox fan. His wonderful sense of humor, warm heart and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Surviving are John’s brother Steven VonWiller of Long Beach, Calif., nephew Thomas VonWiller of Long Beach, Calif., one Aunt & Uncle George and Jean Mezoian of South Portland and numerous cousins in the southern Maine area.
