COVALLIS – David E. Vintin, 75, died Monday at his home in Corvallis, where he had lived 11 years.

Born in Grass Valley, he farmed there until moving in 1937 in Philomath and in 1939 to Albany. He operated a restaurant in Albany until 1943 when he became a cook at Camp Adair. He later was a cook at the Astoria Naval Base and Barnes Hospital, Vancouver, Wash.

He was a member of St. Johns Masonic Lodge of Albany, the National Association of Retired Civil Service Employees, Veterans of World War I, and the Golden Age Club.

Survivors include stepsons, J. L. and Wayne A. Robare of Albany, D. D. Robare of Eugene, and Norman Robare of Sunnyvale, Calif; stepdaughter Mrs. Erma Reed, Lakeview; brother Guy W. Vintin, Carlton, Wash.; sister Mrs. A. Laura Campbell of Alaska; nine grandchildren.

Funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at McHenry Funeral Home with burial at 2:30 p.m. in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland.
