Scott D. Hughes, 60, of Nashville, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, with his wife and children at his side.

A celebration of life service will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford, Iowa. Burial will be in Okoboji (Iowa) Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the service at the church.

Scott was born on Oct. 18, 1957, in Sioux City, to Vernon and Helene (Streicher) Hughes. He lived in Smyrna, Texas, and grew up in Sioux City.

Scott enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. His love for music, games and trivia created many wonderful memories. He had a great personality and was known for his stubborn attitude and humor. He will be missed by all those his life has touched.

Survivors include his wife and best friend, Dawn Hughes; his children, Lexa Hughes, Cory Schulte, Damon Hughes and Jordan Hughes; and siblings, Vivianne Iverson, Michael Hughes, Georgia Hughes and Katie Krommenhoek.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Brett Hughes; and sister, Mary Barnowsky.
