Lifelong Live Oak County resident Bernardo Lopez passed away peacefully at his home in Three Rivers on Monday, September 21, 2020, lovingly surrounded by his family. He was 89.

Mr. Lopez was born in Live Oak County August 20, 1931 to Nicanor Lopez and Yrene (Baladez) Lopez. He married Carmel Marin Garza in Three Rivers on August 28, 1950. He was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a farmer, rancher and truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicanor and Yrene Lopez; his wife, Carmel Lopez; a son, Oscar Lopez; and a daughter, Eloisa Lopez.

Survivors include two daughters, Sylvia (Pete) Salazar and Virginia (Martin) Tanguma, both of Three Rivers; four brothers, Felipe Lopez of Flatonia, Dionicio Manuel Lopez of San Antonio, Floyd Daniel (Irma) Lopez of Spring and Santos (Beatrice) Lopez of Three Rivers; five sisters, Rosa Lopez, Elvira (Guadalupe) Reyna, Angelita Lopez, Baudelia (David) House and Adriana (Edward) Mendez, all of Three Rivers; three grandchildren, Thomas (Laura) Salazar and Tanya Salazar, both of Three Rivers and Theresa Salazar of Midland; and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Salazar and Alicia Salazar, both of Three Rivers.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Three Rivers with a Rosary at 7 o’clock.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers with Father Ryszard Zielinski officiating. Burial will follow in the Three Rivers Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steve Garza, Daniel Alvarez, Warren Kopplin, James Liska, Philip Salinas and Juan Rios.

Honorary pallbearers will be Doyle “Butch” Bryan and Juan Salazar.
