Funeral services for Evelyn Louise (Pickens) West will be held at the Central Baptist Church, south of Sulphur. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.
Evelyn was born April 21, 1950 in Wynnewood, OK to the late Robert William and Wilma Dorothy (Cherry) Pickens. She passed on Sunday, September 20, 2020 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 70. Evelyn and Jimmy D. West were married on March 22, 1980 in Sulphur.
Evelyn grew up in Murray County. She spent the earlier years of her adult life caring for her two sons, Roger and Mark; as well as, working at the Burford Manor Nursing Home in Davis. Following their marriage, she and Jimmy spent some 20+ years driving cross country as team drivers. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, working puzzles and making earrings. She was an avid fan of garage sales, stopping at each sale she came across, just in case she could find something good. Evelyn cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy; two sons, Roger Adams & wife Jovonda of Davis and Mark Adams & wife Rhonda of Sulphur; three step-children, Dita West of Sulphur, Mara West of Oklahoma City and Jimmy West, Jr. of Sulphur; one sister, Sharon Pickens of Davis; two brothers, Robert Pickens & wife Virginia of Dibble and Kevin Pickens of Oklahoma City.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by four siblings, Raymond Pickens, David Pickens, Danny Pickens and Bessie Sue Pickens.
