Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Romeo and Antoinette (Beaulieu) Picard.
Marie was a lifelong Pawtucket resident who graduated from the former Pawtucket East High School.
A U.S. Navy Waves Veteran, Marie served during World War II after completing U.S. Naval Training School in New York.
She was the proprietor of the former Blue Bonnet Café, Pawtucket, which was owned by her family for generations. Marie was an avid New England sports fan who enjoyed baking, playing Bingo and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis A. Roy and his wife, Claudette, of North Kingstown and Robert C. Roy and his wife, Doris, of Cumberland; a daughter, Doreen M. Roy of Pawtucket; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Roy of Pascoag and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Alan M. and David P. Roy, and sister of the late Roger Picard, Marguerite Twarog and Therese Hebden.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday in Our Lady of Consolation Church, 211 Sabin St., Pawtucket. Interment with Military Honors immediately followed at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Glaucoma Foundation, 80 Maiden Lane, Ste. 700, New York, NY 10038 would be appreciated.
