Richard G. Wilkins of Newburyport, formerly of Watertown and Melrose.
Loving father of Jennifer Wilkins and husband of Amesbury, and the late R. Craig Wilkins, cherished father-in-law of Lydia of VT, devoted grandfather of two granddaughters, proud great-grandfather to three.
Richard G. Wilkins, died Saturday, September 19, at Anna Jaques Hospital, Newburyport. He was the son of the late Arthur G. and Perla (Fortin) Wilkins.
Raised in Watertown, Dick graduated from Watertown High School and attended Brown University.
After being honorably discharged from the Army after the Korean War, he resided in Melrose and went on to have a long career in the automobile industry. Upon retiring he relocated to Jacksonville, FL, prior to moving to Newburyport in 2013 to be closer to his family. Mr. Wilkins had many hobbies and interests including golf, cards and time spent boating along the New England seacoast.
Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family with interment in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes.
