Roy David Moore, age 93 years, passed away on Monday September 21, 2020, in Oklahoma City. He was a former resident of both Cartwright and Atoka. In consideration of the health and safety of friends and loved ones, no funeral service is scheduled at this time. A memorial service will be announced to be held at a later date.

David worked many jobs in his lifetime, ranging from café cook, ranch cowboy, plumber’s apprentice, farmer, and even office clerk. He retired from the McAlester Naval Ammunitions Depot in 1970. He married Barbara Jean Sherman on Saturday, April 14, 1951 at Richmond, CA. They were married 65 years before she passed away in 2016. David loved coon hunting, fishing, and riding. He was a member of Parkside Baptist Church in Denison, TX.

David is survived by his children, Margie Butler and husband Rex of New Orleans, LA; Paul Moore and wife Carolyn of Oklahoma City, OK; Ron Moore and wife Jenice of San Ramon, CA; his grandchildren, Natalie Houck and husband Ryan of Clinton, OK; Emily Jones and husband Rusty of Norman, OK; David Butler and wife Holland of Tomball, TX, Truett Butler of Kettering, OH; Megan Moore of San Ramon, CA; Chandler Moore and his wife Irma of Dublin, CA; Joseph Moore of Princeton, NJ; and his nine great-grandchildren, Gavin Houck, Chloe Houck, Julian Rodriguez, Caleb Schultz, Conrad Butler, Beatrice Jones, Lucy Butler, Isabella Moore, and Caleb Butler; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear and loved friends.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Sarah E. “Pat” Hubbard and William R. Moore, his step-father Si Hubbard, his wife, Barbara Moore, a sister who died at birth, and his brothers, John Moore, Freddie Moore, and Eddie Moore.
