Barbara Ellen (Blanton) Willis, 81, of Ironton passed away September 19, 2020 at The Sanctuary of Ohio Valley nursing home. The Scioto County native was born November 18, 1938, a daughter to the late Jimmy and Nannie (Vanhorn) Blanton. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Willis.
Mrs. Willis was a 1955 graduate of Ironton High School. Barbara went on to work as a nursing aid at Ironton General Hospital. She was of the Baptist faith.
Barbara is survived by 4 daughters, Kathy Smith and Don Culbertson of Ironton, Deborah (Kerry) Tharp of Darlington, SC., Patricia (David) Simpson of Elizabethtown, KY and Suzette Brown and Paul Stammen of Sun City, Florida; sister, Stella Rawlins of Ironton; brother, Clarence Blanton of South Webster; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was proceeded in death by son, John McClelland, Jr.; 4 brothers, Carl Blanton, Albert Blanton, Eubert Blanton and George Blanton
Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Buckeye Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Blanton officiating. Burial will immediately follow.
