She was born on September 8, 1962, in Hardinsburg, Kentucky, the daughter of Gilbert Lucas and Bobbie Kennedy.
Carnell was a member of Emmanuel Fellowship Church, the former manager of TNT Restaurant, and an employee of the Custer Elementary School cafeteria. She enjoyed flower gardening, baking, cooking, crafts, camping, and riding the golf cart. Carnell was a kind, soft-spoken lady who loved her family and friends and they adored her.
She was preceded in death by her father Gilbert Lucas.
She is survived by her husband Challen R. "Sonny" Mason, Jr. of Harned, Kentucky, 2 daughters: Jennifer Masterson and Jessica Hazelwood "Elliot" of Hardinsburg, Kentucky, 6 grandchildren: Haley, Noah, Eric, Quincy, Kennedy, and Khloe; her mother, Bobbie Lucas of Harned, Kentucky; her sister, JoAnn Lucas of SeRee, Kentucky; brothers, Mike Lucas (Tracy) of SeRee, Kentucky, and Barry Lucas (Lisa) of Sample, Kentucky; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at Emmanuel Fellowship Church on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at 12 PM. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Walk-through viewing will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, 4-7 PM, and Wednesday at the church from 9 AM - 12 PM.
