On the morning of September 17, 2020, Barbara Pigeon at the age of 79, earned her angel wings and took her final flight to heaven.

Barbara was born on February 8, 1941 in Cookson, OK to Elizabeth Fritts. She attended school at Etta Bend, and attended some college after high school. She married Dewey Pigeon and their marriage was blessed with two sons, Bobby and Terry and four daughters, Delores, Deborah, Stephanie and baby girl Pigeon.
Barbara spent her life doing a multitude of jobs.

She worked in retail sales; having worked at the original Reasor’s grocery store and the 7-Eleven in Wagoner years ago. She was a caregiver; having worked many years as a private caregiver for disabled adults and the elderly. She treated her clients like family and often brought them to family get togethers and holidays. And to many people she was known as “the bread lady.” For many years she sold baked goods to local businesses; a lot of her bread and desserts were a tradition for years to many local family’s holiday get togethers.

Her family laughs because they knew when it came time for get togethers no matter how many times they told her don’t go overboard…… well she would show up with her van piled ceiling high with food for her family. She never wanted anyone to be left out. She loved cooking for her own family as well as her church family.

Barbara loved her family and we loved her. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her heart. Her passing has a left a hole in our hearts but we rejoice in knowing that she has received the ultimate healing. Life will not be the same without her here with us.

Besides her family, Barbara’s love for her savior Jesus Christ was the only thing that she cherished as near and dear to her heart. Barbara was a member of the First Apostolic Church in Welling, OK.

Barbara was preceded in death by husband, Dewey Pigeon, children, Baby Girl Pigeon and son Bobby Pigeon, parents Pop Georgie Davis and Lizzie Fritts, brother Harold Cook, and grandparents Bennie and Iolia Fritts.

Barbara is survived by and leaves to cherish her memory; daughter Delores and husband Randy Turney of Hulbert, OK; daughter Deborah and husband Paul Pritchett of Tahlequah, OK; son Terry Pigeon of Wagoner, OK; daughter Stephanie Waits of Bartlesville, OK; grandson Berton Pritchett and great-grandchildren Haley, Hannah and Easton of Gentry, AR; granddaughter Brandy and husband Mike Davis and great-grandchildren Marcus, Lucus and Gemma of Wagoner, OK; granddaughter Christina and husband Jeff Worley and great-grandchildren Tori, Coy and Morgan of Pryor, OK, grandson Jason and wife Heidi Turney and great-grandchildren Katelyn, Brooklyn, Colton and Kinsey of Wagoner, OK; granddaughter Shannon and husband BJ Jackson and great-grandchildren Kelby, Chloe, Camron, Breanna, Carsyn and Creek of Dewey, OK; granddaughter Latasha and husband BJ Gage and great-grandchildren Adia, Tava, Emeri and Wyatt of Pryor, OK; granddaughter Kristal and husband Justin Fowler and great-grandchildren Jared, Jerzie, Titan, and Dawson of Bartlesville, OK; grandson Bradley and great grandchildren Hayden, Luke and Ben of Tahlequah, OK; grandson Jesse Ray Pigeon and great-grandchildren Deighton, Emma and Jesse Jr of Adair, OK, sister Beatrice Henderson of Welling, OK, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, her special friend Sister Phyllis Little, along with her church family and friends.

The family would like to thank Emerald Hospice of Wagoner. The love and support shown by the Emerald Hospice team will never be forgotten. And a special thank you to Louise Brinker from the family. Louise, we have no doubt God sent you to us at just the right time to help us through those final hours. Louise you have no idea the impact you made on our family and the peace you brought to us in the final hours. You were our guardian angel. Thank you is not enough to repay you.
