For twenty-one short years God blessed us with Cameron James Newton, who was our son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. Now we know God only takes the best to
heaven. He was born on August 12, 1999 in Pensacola, FL and went to meet Jesus the
weekend of Sept 12, 2020 while stationed in ldaho. Cameron was once referred to as a model baby, so handsome with fat chubby cheeks. He was born with purple and gold in his blood,
eating and breathing LSU just like his family. Loud and proud, no question which team he was loyal to. Cameron had the most calm and laid back personality. He would never get in a hurry or get too stressed about many things in life.
Cameron liked all sports and would analyze all the plays and talk about it with anyone that
would entertain him. For many years, his Dad and Uncle coached him while he played shortstop in little league baseball. Most of his teenage meals were spent at Whataburger. lt was definitely his favorite meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cameron was naturally smart in school and always excelled if he liked what he was doing. During his middle school years he participated in the band, but found out quickly he did not like it. When he went to high school he chose the engineering program, which became his passion and what he hoped to pursue. He became the first official statistical engineer and baseball manager for the high school team and did so for two years. This was an honor for him and he loved doing the job and being part of the team. The coaches sure hated to see him graduate because he knew the sport and what to do without instructions. Cameron graduated from West FL High School in May 2017. lt was April 2019 that he made the decision to join the United States Air Force, completing basic training in June. He was excited to get started with this career and experience new places. Cameron was an Airman First Class at Mountain Home AFB in ldaho.
Cameron is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Clyde Carroll; paternal grandfather, James Hinson Newton lll; and cousin, Kevin Wakefield. He is survived by his mother, Melissa
