PRINCETON ~ Maryland F Caldwell, 90, of the Athens Road, formerly of the Fountain Park area, died of natural causes Monday, May 16, at a Princeton hospital. Born May 23, 1898, at Willowton, he was the son of the late George and Mary Pennington Caldwell. Mr. Caldwell was a former employee with the Virginian Power Plant at Narrows, Va., and was a retired employee with the Norfolk and Western Railway as a section foreman. He was a member of the Oliver Avenue Church of God at Princeton and the Princeton Old Guards.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Mae Hill Caldwell, in 1971; and two sons, Edward and Buddie Caldwell. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Clora) Davis of Athens, Mary Turner of Dallas, N.C., and Mrs. Clinton (Lucretia) Thompson of Sophia; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p m. at the Burns-Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Revs William Ii Baker and George Hanby officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens at Princeton. Friends may call today from 6 p.m. to 9 p m. at the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton. Pallbearers will be grandsons and flower bearers will be granddaughters.
