Gregory Scott "Greg" Elliott, 66, left for his heavenly home on Sunday, September 13, 2020 from Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN, following a courageous battle with cancer and related illnesses. A graduate of J. J. Kelly High School, Greg spent his career in the auto parts service industry; music was his lifelong solace and joy.
Greg was the son of the late, Walter Sam and Barbara Amarylis "Mary" Dotson Elliott; and was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debra Diane Sturgill Elliott; grandparents, Avery Walter and Anna Ruth Kennedy Elliott and Monroe and Julia Scott Dotson; and his younger brother, Russell "Rusty" Mark Elliott.
He is survived by his precious and loving daughter, Rebecca Diane Elliott; the pride and joy of his life, best buddy and namesake, grandson, Ian Scott Elliott; brother, Donald Blake Elliott and wife Katherine of Oxford, AL; sister, Julie Ruth Elliott Short and husband Monty of Big Stone Gap, VA; step-mother, Faye Sams Elliott; step-brother, Jeff Sams; and step-sister, Amanda Sams Kilgore; special friend, Linda Hurd. He will long be remembered by his nieces and nephews, Donald Blake, Jr., Tyson and Ashley Elliott, Brian Short, Megan Short Fannon, Caitlin and Kelsie Williams, Benjamin and Kristina Elliott; and a host of cousins and friends.
