Lisa Penny Taylor, a bright light, burned out too soon. She departed from her physical life on September 15 after a brave twelve-year battle with breast cancer. She was a warrior. Lisa was born on June 30, 1951 to the late James L Penny and Marcelene Penny Ogburn. She attended Broughton High school and graduated from St. Mary’s High school in 1969. She attended NCSU in the newly formed Computer Science Curriculum and graduated in 1973. Her programming career began at Planter’s National Bank in Rocky Mount, N.C and then to Burroughs Welcome (now Glaxo Smith-Kline). She retired in 2006. Lisa is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jake Taylor, son Jeff Taylor and his wife Lindsey Bledsoe Taylor, a son Brant Taylor and companion Sara Cayatte. Lisa has two grandsons Grayson and Bodie and one granddaughter Lilly. Lisa is also survived by her sister Linda Penny Smith. In lieu of flowers, her wishes were for donations to be made to Chris Perri GoFundMe https://www.gofundme.com/f/chris-perri-leukemia-support who has two young kids and is currently battling Leukemia. Susan B Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer or Jimmy V Foundation are other alternatives.
