Jeremiah Padgett married Lucy Johnson September 22, 1831 in Oldham, Kentucky. In the 1860 census they had the following children: Nancy, 15; James S., 14, Thomas E, 12; Sarah, 10; Albert, 8; William, 5; Eliza, 3; and Ann, 9/12. In 1870 they had added 2 more children: Adeline (Tebitha A.), 5; and Mary E, 2. Lucy died in 1873. He married Rachel Powell in September 13, 1873 in Indiana and in 1880 they had added Charles, 6 and Rufus, 3 to the family. Two other children appear in the records: In 1880 John L., b. in 1867; and in daughter Nancy's obit a half sister, Lucretia Galaway is mentioned. So Jeremiah could have had at least 14 children with his two wives.
