Mrs. Spires was born in Independence, Iowa, daughter of George and Bessie Daniels. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She married Clifton Spires on September 6, 1938.
Surviving are her husband; sons, Rev. Kenneth D. of East Alton; Larry C. of Morrisonville; Gary Keith of Noblesville, Indiana; Roger H. of Pawnee; daughters, Mrs. William (Linda) Price of Langleyville; Mary Ann Sheets of Taylorville; brothers, Roy Daniels of Lincoln; Ray Daniels of Collinsville; Kenneth J. Daniels of Pensacola, Florida; Eugene Daniels of Vandalia; James Daniels of Sullivan; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
