Graveside services for Roy Douglas Adams, age 85, of New Harmony, Texas are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 21, 2020 in the New Harmony Cemetery with Bro. Bruce Rudd officiating. Mr. Adams passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 in Tyler, Texas. He was born in Mt. Sylvan, Texas to the late John Frank and Ester Lucille (Gimble) Adams on November 14, 1934. Mr. Adams served in the United States Navy and the United States Army and retired after 20 years of service to his Country. During his military career, he served in Korea in 1952-1953 and Vietnam from 1968-1969 where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. Mr. Adams married the love of his life, Anna Marie Baranowski on September 24, 1965 in Germany. He was a member of the Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church and was preceded in death by 4 brothers, John F. Adams, Jr., Wilbur Adams, Jack Adams and Mack Adams and by 3 sisters, Pauline Gorman, Fay Walker and Oleta Allen. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anna Adams of New Harmony, Texas; daughter, Karen Adams of Hideaway, Texas; and granddaughter, Erin D. Rankins of Hideaway, Texas.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. As a Covid-19 precaution masks are required at all visitations and indoor services.
