Carol L. Zimmerman, a resident of Clinton Township, Michigan passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the age of 67.

Carol was born December 26, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to the late James I. Smith and Lois L. Scroggins Smith.

On January 23, 2006 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, she was united in marriage to Daniel J. Zimmerman. Together they shared 14 years of marriage.

Carol earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing through University of Detroit and later earned her Master's Degree in Nursing from Wayne State University. As a registered nurse she worked in various areas including critical care, cath lab, dialysis and sometimes in the emergency room. After 42 years in the medical field she retired in 2016. She was a member of Grosse Pointe United Methodist Church and for relaxation, enjoyed quilting and knitting.

She is survived by her husband Daniel, and close friends who helped to care for her, Marilyn Mathew and Sharon Mayne.

Cremation services were entrusted to the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main, Mount Clemens, MI. Inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan on Thursday, October 1, 2020.

Contributions in memory of Carol may be addressed to Michigan Humane Society or Leader Dogs for the Blind.
