Mitch was born in Ruston, Louisiana in 1961 to Roy and Daisy (Williamson) McAdams. He moved to Seymour when he was in 5th grade. He married Suzanne Bateman in 1987 in Seymour.
He was a graduate of Seymour High School and an active member of First Baptist Church, He taught Sunday School, served as Deacon, served on the Building Committee, and went on several youth mission trips. He graduated from Ball State University with a B.S. in Business. He worked for Cargill Salt for 27 years, first in plant operations and later in sales. He won many awards for being the best at what he did. His job moved his family to Alabama, Cincinnati, Lexington, and later back to Seymour.
