Heart Attack Proves Fatal Following Brief Illness
"Harry" Knowlton passed suddenly away last Friday night at his rooms in Alexandria; death being due to heart trouble, following a brief illness. He had made his home in Alexandria for a number of years, being employed as shoemaker by Robt. Taylor for the past several years.
Hillary Monroe Knowlton was born in Memphis, Missouri March 4, 1878. From there he moved to South Dakota and came to Nebraska about 25 years ago. he departed this life Dec 18, 1936 at the age of 58 years, 9 months and 14 day.
He leaves as a bequest to the society in which he lived: a sister Katie; two sons Leonard of Nampa, Ind, and Earl of fairbury; four daughters Lillie, Nettie, Ruby and Mary, all of Fairbury; three grandchildren and friends who have stood by him in all the trials of this life.
Funeral services were conducted from the Baptist church, Rev. V.K. Brooks, officiating, and burial made i the Alexandria cemetery, Wednesday afternoon.
