Linda Carol Jean (Rideout) Whiffen

February 5, 1956 – May 3, 2020

It is with heartfelt sadness that a special woman Linda Whiffen passed away suddenly at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s in the arms of her sister Cathy. Leaving to mourn son Carson (Hector) who she very proudly spoke of often. Sisters Cathy & Deeann (Bernie), brother Dave (Audrey) sisters-in-law Freda (Barry), Veronica, Verna (Tom), Lucy (Sam), Nancy (Dan) & Bonnie (Bob), brothers-in-law; Kevin (special to Linda), Adrian (Charlotte), Mark (Jackie) and a large circle of nieces and nephews. Also leaving to mourn special long-time friend Sue Gillingham, special aunt Ida Anstey and special cousin Helen Simmons.

Predeceased by husband Frank in 2010 who Linda has missed dearly and now they are together again. Her mother Lucy Lenore, father Ernest , sister Eramary, brothers John & Eddy, nephew Kosta Lavallee, & brother-in-law Gerard.

Linda will be missed by many who came into her life. Her free spirit and innocent way of thinking, her gratitude for others, her whit - she told it like it was (lol), always a big smile for everyone, she was indeed a social butterfly.

Wishing to thank Helen’s Haven, Hazelwood, Pleasant View Towers 2 North, St. Claires 6th Floor, Health Science Centre, 4 South B. Donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.

There will be a private visitation and burial at St. Joseph’s R.C. Cemetery, Grand Falls-Windsor.
