Hazel May Jones Sturgeon, 70, 535 Shiloh Rd., Campbellsville, died Saturday, April 2, 1988, at the Taylor County Hospital after an illness. The daughter of the late Joseph Osborne and Mayme Graybeal Osborne, she was born Sept. 25, 1917. She was a member of the Church of God. She is survived by her husband, Merle Sturgeon; five sons and six daughters, Delmar Jones, Sharon Whitlock, and Linda Harris, all of Campbellsville, Hobert Dale Jones and Thomas Jones, Louisville, Roy Jones, Irene Patton and Willard Jones, Indiana, Mary Verda and Christine Clements, Illinois; and Doris Boggess, Tulsa, Okla.; five brothers and four sisters, James Osborne, Louisville, Dempsey Osborne, Shelby Jean Osborne, Willard Osborne, and Kenneth Osborne, Zelma Newbey and Eula Lawson, Indiana, Edna Osborne, Arizona, and Mattie Blair, Louisville; 54 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; several other relatives and a host of friends. The funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday, April 4, at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Elliott Cemetery. The Rev. James Jackson officiated.
