Bill was my cousin~

Son of Delpha (my Grandpa's sister) and Delvin Jennings~

Grandson of Martin & Mary Smith~

Nephew of Irvin, George, Martin and Gyle Smith~

Bill lived in Shawnee Mission, Kansas~He was 51 year old when he was found murdered in his home on Sunday, April 25, 2004.

He was a co-owner of Metropolitan Court Reporters of Overland Park, a business he started with two friends in 1988.

He was born Oct. 23, 1952, in Norton, Kansas, and grew up in Phillipsburg. He is survived by his mother, Delpha Jennings, of Phillipsburg; his brother, Dan Jennings, of McPherson, Kan.; and two sisters, Patricia Singer, of Republican, Neb., and Sherri Hanchett, of Phillipsburg.

Bill graduated from Ottawa University with a degree in business education in 1975 and completed a course in court reporting from Kansas City Business College in 1976. In 1988, Bill and his business partners founded Metropolitan Court Reporters in Overland Park, KS.

He was a particular favorite of his employees who appreciated his genuine interest in their lives, accompanied by his quick wit and good humor. His many hobbies and interests included reading, running with the local Frontrunners chapter, playing bridge, playing piano, spending time with his many friends and exercising.

He was a wonderful person with a GREAT Personality! ALWAYS laughing and joking around. He is VERY MUCH MISSED!!!

The one who did this has since been found, convicted and is serving a life sentence!!!
