Willie Ed Watson of Kingston Dr., Kannapolis, NC passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Accordius Health, Concord, NC.

Willie was born August 9, 1938 in Cleveland County, GA to the late Edward Watson, Sr. and the late Willie Pearl Zackary Watson.

Willie was educated in the Kannapolis City School System and was a graduate of G.W. Carver High School. He was formerly employed with Cannon Mills.

Willie was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he was involved with the Sunday School Dept and was a member the Men of Integrity.

Services will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, 923 Indiana St., Kannapolis, NC. Visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00 PM, with funeral services at 1:00. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, William Watson; his daughter, Renita Roseboro; five sisters, May Sue Porter, Macie Ratliff, Hazel Rainey, Ella Mae Moody and Anna Cornel; four brothers, Edward (Eddie) Watson, Joe Henry Watson, David Lee Watson and Johnny Lee Watson.

Those who shall forever cherish his memory include his wife, Lola Watson of the home; one son, Timothy Antonio Watson of Kannapolis; three daughters, Anna Maria Johnson of Kannapolis, Katrina Marie Watson of Salisbury, NC and Tithina Huntley of Charlotte, NC; five stepchildren, Deborah Ann Nance, Margaret Weaks, George Washington (Jean), Clara Stanback (Bill) and Minnie Buster; nine grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one sister, Marjorie Parks (Jerry) of Kannapolis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
