Dennis Nathan Mann, 19, vanished on January 26, 1979 from Winona, Mississippi. Originally from Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, he had moved to the area after high school graduation to join a construction crew. After the job had finished, he decided to stay in the small town and got an apartment at the Wisteria Hotel, telling his parents that he liked how friendly everyone was. The morning of his disappearance, he had talked with his father, a deputy, and said he had a bit of a cold, but still intended to visit the following week. Later that day, he was at a friend's home near Foltz Road off of Highway 51, and was supposedly last seen walking across the field to his apartment- he was never seen again. In recent years, the police and the FBI were contacted via mail and phone calls by anonymous persons claiming to know what happened to him, but couldn't give their name.
Most recently, the property owned by a Sharon Amason was searched by investigators- documents related to this court order included looking into wells, ponds, and homes on the property. They turned up empty handed. Sharon would have been 16 in 1979- perhaps the property had once belonged to her parents.
He was born on December 25, 1959, brown hair and eyes, mustache, 5'10", 165 pounds, a scar on the right side of his abdomen, and wearing a blue plaid shirt, jean jacket, Levi jeans, and tannish cowboy boots. DNA is available. Skull x-rays are available from a previous motorcycle accident. Montgomery County Sheriff's Office can be reached at
(662)283-4612.

Agency Case# M83-26. NCIC #M174677377.
